Just for clarity, can someone please tell me what maintenance history an SMC should have had at say 8k miles in order to be considered 'well looked after? I can't seem to find any solid info on this. The 690 is physically just a larger bike. Bit wider, sits very tall, while the 500 is very compact. They can both reach 100 with ease, and both are very wheelie prone. The 690 because the gas is under the seat near the back, the 500 because it's a pretty quick motor, certainly quicker than my old 530.

I believe it's up-to-par w/ the new generation of race bikes, but even after a big bore kit, (250 > 290), it still wouldnt be freeway worthy & will run me the same $$$ as a new SM630. A guy near my work has a late 2000s KTM SMC690. Looks awesome, sounds awesome, and I hear maintenance is fairly relaxed. However, the $10,000 MSRP is obsurd. xPnHzn.
