Changed the fuel pump in the tank about 2 months ago, run fine.But has now decided to not start /cut out again. Towed home by AA, who couldnot get it going, but left with no low fuel

Took to main dealer and was told new fuel filter required at cost of £200 and not covered by warranty. Told the cold weather had caused the diesel to thicken and cause waxing on fuel filter. Told it's not a Citroen issue but issue with diesel sold on most forecourts and supermarkets. Is this really true, feels like a design issue to me.
