As others have stated, the PS4 almost certainly will include split screen. That being said, you'll really want your friend to invest in their console/copy of Ark. The tethering distance to the host is (currently) annoying on so many levels, it really holds back the full potential of what two players could do together.The PS5 hardware can definitely handle the request, but the games aren’t as well supported for split screen.
