When angry, halfmoon betta fish typically extend their tail 180 degrees. It’s usually long and slender, with a rounded form. The tail may sometimes extend beyond 180 degrees. Here, it’s known as a halfmoon. In certain circumstances, the tail extension does not reach 180 degrees. Then, it’s known as a delta.
Betta fish should ideally be fed twice a day. You can give them a small pinch of food in the morning and another in the evening. If your fish are currently breeding, you can feed them up to three meals a day. Ensure to split into more frequent meals, spaced 4 – 6 hours apart.

You don’t need a filtration system for a betta tank. Bettas don’t require high levels of oxygen in their water, since they can directly breath air on the surface. They don’t like a lot of water circulation and actually prefer calm water, especially at the top of their tank. But they don’t like filthy water, either.
One portion of betta food should be about the size of his eyeball. This amount can be fed two or three times per day. I am often only able to feed my bettas once per day so I tend to feed just a little more, perhaps twice the size of their eyeballs each day. If your betta appears bloated after feeding, reduce your portion sizes.
How much to feed a betta fish. A good daily portion of food for an adult betta is about 1.8 grams, but it doesn’t have to be exact. This applies regardless of the type of food you are feeding your betta.
Here’s a quick recap on what you should feed your betta fish: Betta fish pellets (the main part of the diet) Betta fish flakes (if your fish eats those, most betta fish aren’t fans and prefer pellets) Freeze-dried foods (e.g., brine shrimp, blood worms) Frozen foods (as an occasional treat)

Kai_B. 5 years ago. If you have a normal sized betta fish then I would recommend 2-3 pellets everyday. But, what I do is I give them 2 in the morning then I do tricks with them. During tricks I use the food as treats. Typically they get around 5 pellets a day. Tricks are also good for their health.

It’s much more important to feed your betta fish at the same time every day. If you feed your betta fish at 11:00 AM and 11:00 PM everyday, then this is the schedule you should maintain. With that being said, that’s actually a poor example, because betta fish are diurnal, which means that they prefer eating during the daytime.
When Bettas overeat, their stomach expands. Unfortunately, Bettas only have very small stomachs, so it doesn’t take much for a Bettas stomach to expand to the point it starts to put pressure on and move other organs. Like all fish, Bettas have an organ known as a swim bladder. The swim bladder’s job is to expand and contract as the Betta
